Are you kidding me? I think that is crazy!! I would get a second opinion, for sure 
. I have heard of young children having to get fillings done, but I think it's pretty rare.
My boys are 5, and we have not had any dental work, but go for regular check-ups. We go to the dentist next week, so I hope they get a good report!
Good luck, and please post a follow-up for other mothers to refer to.
