My husband had the boys for a day while I worked half way through my potty training week, and after one poopy accident, he gave up. This partially relieved me, so I went along with it. There were some benefits of trying it out, though. I was able to teach one of them how to pee at will and he still does a couple times a day. This (and the candy rewards) has intrigued the other twin and now he's started being able to poop occasionally.
Overall, I think the intense training for a few days, really gave my boys a good idea about how using the potty works. Now, hopefully when I try again in a few months, it will go much better.
Also, I've learned that I prefer using potty seats that go on the regular toilet, because it's much easier to clean up, and also they love flushing. If you do want a separate potty chair, I saw one at IKEA for 3.99 that looks very similar to the Baby Bjorn model that has gotten lots of positive reviews and costs 25.00 or so.
