I have gone by car more than plane, but here's what I've experienced. A lot depends on the age of your twins. If they're little, the difficulty will come in taking care of the basics--feeding, diapering, etc. If the twins are toddlers or older, keeping them entertained will be the big challenge. If you can go non-stop, that's best. Try to be seated in a more empty part of the plane so you can spread out if possible. There's no changing area in the bathroom, so if you can do it on your seats, that's easiest. You'll have to go through security, so bring kids shoes that are easy to remove and put back on. You can take your stroller(s) up to the gate and check it there which is nice for getting to the gate. We had one adult to push the stroller and one to push bags on a cart. Bring lots of snacks and exciting toys for toddlers. A portable DVD player might also be a great plus if your kiddos like movies. This is all such a disorganized rambling mess, but I hope some of it's useful.
