My girls both had their tubes put in their ears after having cleft palate surgery. As far as that they we will be a little uncomfortable and want to scratch at their ears. the doctor will give you some ear drops to prevent infection as well as an antibiotic. He will recommend that you try to keep water out of their ears like a bath or anything around where water can get it. My girls still get infections but can easily be treated. If you give them a bath use the huggies bath wipes that foam when you get wet and wash hair that way.
