Posted by Allison I'm just a new lurker, haven't joined the SLMOT yet I know babies are not supposed to replace a nursing session with solids, but I wouldn't try to force the 6-7 times a day. Every baby is different, but as mine have gotten older they are more efficient and eat more at each nursing session, so I feel like they are getting enough with 5 times a day. Anyway, sorry for the long reply. I would go with your gut...

Hi Wendy,
But I have 7 month old twins. I nurse them when they wake up, then feed them solids about an hour later. This way they are already full from nursing. Then I feed them solids again at about 6 p.m., and nurse before bedtime. In between they usually nurse about 3 times. So they nurse 5 times a day.
