I have a 10 yr old daughter and a 7 1/2 yr old boy and also boy/girl twins that are 3 1/2- my two older ones I have had problems with. This program that I started will work for behavior and also getting them to do their chores. buy tickets on a big roll you can find them at walmart in the ofc section. then buy inexpensive prizes such as tiny bounce balls, stickers, coloring book etc.- also buy things at the dollar store and have a list of activities your child like (like a sleepover, movie night with just mom or dad or a game hour etc. then place them in a container marked Moms reward center.( make sure you decide how many tickets per item) I give the child a ticket as a reward and not everytime they clean their room or behave correctly. I just do it out of the blue- I say geese you have been so good today here are 3 tickets. they can redeem them once a week on friday ( or everyother week) that is when I open the reward center up. This works great I have used it for 6 yrs. I have them store tickets in tupperware or a ziploc I advise them they are like money if you loose them you can not redeem them this teaches them to be responsible If you have any questions you may email me or respond here. Try it for a few months and tweak it to work for you and your family
