I have boy/girl twins that are three. My son is autistic and is going to preschool at the Pingree school. He started on Wednesday. So far he has handled it well and the teachers tell me is happy. Because of his autism he tends to be really passive and just kind of goes with the flow. His sister who is developing normally will be going to a preschool in Granite School Dist. starting on the 6th. The problem is she is not happy about not having her brother home. The first day she cried for two hours. The second day she did ok but when I took her to childcare at Gold's Gym all she did was sit and watch tv. She usually plays. I never realized before how dependent they are on each other even with him being very delayed and way behind her in language. I'm not really looking for advice as there probably aren't many of you who have faced this situation just wanted to vent a little. Despite this problem we are happy with the decision we made and he seems to be responding very well to the school and it is given us great hope that he will make a lot of progress.
