Posted by Christa Last August I tried for 2 months and all I ended up with was alot of stress and even more laundry (we were using regular underwear instead of pull-ups). I gave up and went back to pull-ups and tried again in June of this year with underwear and they were pt'd within 3 weeks!!! We did use treats for them too...we gave them 2 jelly beans for going potty and 5 for going poop. As they started doing better and better we took the number of treats down until they were getting none. Isaiah still has an occasional accident during the day and I still keep them in pull-ups at night b/c sometimes they wake up wet and sometimes dry. From last summer until this summer we still encouraged them to go to the potty but did not stress on it all day every day and so when we went back to underwear they were already using the potty and have not had a #2 accident in over 2 months!! WAHOO! The rate they were going I would have sworn they would be in college before they were pt'd but here we are at 4 1/2 and now they get to start preschool in 2 weeks!! We could not start them last year b/c they were not pt'd yet.

We tried the sticker chart with the boys last summer but they just were not ready! That is my best piece of advice...do not start pt'ing them until they are ready!!
