Sulaiman,
PSSGM is founder of PESAKA who is founder member of PERSILAT. You also confuse PERSILAT with pesilat. pesilat is one who do silat.
I know a lot of PERSILAT member who do not take part in the sport competition side of silat.
: Hi Paul,
: Provisionally Gayong Spain would be
: interested in something like this .
: It would all depend on how and why it was
: organised.
: If it was a genuine effort to promote Silat
: as an art, to raise the profile of silat
: amongst the martial arts community and to
: foster a spirit of cameraderie, friendly
: competition and respect between the
: different silat aliran , then I am sure
: people would get involved.
:
: In my opinion, to not repeat the pathetic
: spectacle that usually passes for silat
: competitions , you will have to seriously
: change the IPSI rules, especially when it
: comes to the olahraga.
: We definitely are not interested in taking
: part in a second rate kickboxing bout.
: To not repeat the mistakes made by silat
: organizations previously you would have to
: get all the Gurus of the interested
: Perguruans to agree a set of rules that
: protected the participants , but at the same
: time allowed them to do silat!
: I would love to see an event of this kind in
: the UK, which seems to have undergone a
: silat renaissance in the last few years ,
: and can now boast a good number of
: traditional and modern silat styles and a
: quantity of talented persilat.
:
: Shame the official Pesilat/IPSI body of the
: PSF UK has missed out on all this , and has
: managed to restrict the membership of its
: organisation to the 2 schools of its
: president and vice president.
: Would be good to see something that
: represented the traditional malay culture of
: respect and modesty rather than just
: representing the modern political culture of
: nepotism and beaurocracy !
: peace
: sulaiman
