This had to be in the early 1970s and fairly soon after his separation or divorce from his wife.
It seemed to me to be a somber occasion with if I remember correctly an abundance of slow songs and ones that weren't even his hit. I saw him in concert around this same time and he repeated this theme of NOT playing all his old hits but playing other people's songs. I got the impression he was singing to the memory of his ex-wife. Pricilla must have been the ONLY female to ever snub Elvis.
Back then (when I was still young) I used to avoid most slow songs as I found them depressing.
There was one exception and I think it's because it was the song that Elvis closed all or almost all of his concerts with.
