Thank you very much. I got the cow to stand up. The vet says she may be able to breed again.
--Previous Message-- : DL has given you some great stuff. I had a : cow down for 4 months before she was able to : walk on her on. I got her up ever day with : a sling and a front end loader within an : hour of pulling the calf, milked her, made : her try to stand, but she was eating. I : have not had much luck if I could get her to : eat or drink. Wishing you well.... : : --Previous Message-- : Have you got your vet involved? If not, you : need to. Who helped you pull the calf? : : It is very possible that she will be ok. : Sometimes it just takes them a little while : to recover from the stress of a hard pull. : : But you really need some help from someone : to determine if anything needs to be done : other than give her time. : : --Previous Message-- : Last night my first calf heifer(app. : shorthron : sired by moody blues and a pure blood shorty : cow) started to calve. She was breed to ali : so i figured it would come easy even though : she was 100 pound birth wieght. It was a : hard pull and the calf got locked up at the : hips.We got a jack and got the calf out but : it died, it weighed 98 pounds. Now the cow : cammont get up and will not eat or dirnk : anything i give to her. I would like to keep : her as she is a nice animal and is one of my : 7 cows. I have been breeding for 3 years and : am only 13 please help. : : : : :
