    I'm sorry for your tough luck, so much for those calving ease clubbies huh???

    I have found it best to REALLY try to get the heifer up ASAP, by about any means possible. Try a sling (I haven't had much luck with those), halter....and IF ALL ELSE FAILS (and I know it sounds bad) but try a hot shot A FEW TIMES. The longer she is down, the more damage she might get and the harder it will be to get her up.
    Lots of bedding, and roll her twice a day to the opposite side she is laying on.
    Your vet gave good advice....keep her on those!!!
    Might also try and email DL (she post on this board)....she was a great help to me when I had a similiar situation!!
    I wish you the best of luck.....sometimes hard work and patience does pay off in this situation, but don't get your hopes up.
