Have you got your vet involved? If not, you need to. Who helped you pull the calf? It is very possible that she will be ok. Sometimes it just takes them a little while to recover from the stress of a hard pull. But you really need some help from someone to determine if anything needs to be done other than give her time. --Previous Message-- : Last night my first calf heifer(app. shorthron : sired by moody blues and a pure blood shorty : cow) started to calve. She was breed to ali : so i figured it would come easy even though : she was 100 pound birth wieght. It was a : hard pull and the calf got locked up at the : hips.We got a jack and got the calf out but : it died, it weighed 98 pounds. Now the cow : cammont get up and will not eat or dirnk : anything i give to her. I would like to keep : her as she is a nice animal and is one of my : 7 cows. I have been breeding for 3 years and : am only 13 please help. :
