    Unless you are prepared to pay the vet bills on possible c-sections (ours was $650 for a dead calf and a paralized heifer) I was told to use heifers because they are more fertile than cows thus resulting in better conception rates. I believe that is true However I will NEVER do it again. Embryo's are buy nature usually bigger. This year we got a 98lb reg. angus calf. Was suppose to be calving ease embryo. (My cows get no grain until they calf.) Please do you heifers a favor and only bred to a know small baby producer. If you only have a small herd , one cannot take the risks.IMO Good Luck
