Had one a year ago, vet pokes around and 'flips' a finger, thumping around and listens for a 'ping', then calls university...surgery successful...calf continues to bloat and dies anyway. $600. According to the vets, it is the easiest surgery in the world on a mature cow, babies...not so much. they cant tack the abomasum to the stomach wall on a baby, so it keeps twisting, at least in our case.
