(1) It is obvious that, even Shirley knows that, from a realistic point of view, things are not optimistic for her. The chance that she could be back is slim. But she just wants to be the one to make decision on her career. Even if she is to quit, it is her own decision but not determined by other people.
(2) Her non-action attitude does not mean that she is not fighting, but may be she thinks the best way to fight is to stop singing at the moment.
(3) She does not quite bother about "when I turn 40, I will see my talent is being wasted". May be she thinks her talent will be even more wasted if she has to sing some meaningless songs.
(4) But I hope she must distinguish the difference between sticking to her own direction and "yak yi gu hang" (I.e. "juen au gok jim")
(5) Sally and Priscilla and Amanda are all coming back, I know. It is always easy to start, because the public will be interested to purchase their "debut" album (because of the "freshness"), but how to maintain good results in their second, third albums, etc, will be a good problem. See what happens to Dave Wang's career: he was impressive in his "giving" album, but then it was a disaster.
(6) If she earns enough money, and decides to spend the rest of her life to sit in the coffee shop, travelling in USA, staying with her parents, then we should respect.
(7) Remember what Shirley said in 1999 (remember the news on Shirley travelling alone by ferry, see e-files), she said she was thinking whether to sing in HK , or to move permanently to USA. Right now, I think this is her life: if everything does not fit, she will not release an album. She could spend more time to do her other things, such as travelling, meditating, painting, be a good daughter to her parents, etc.
(8) I just hope Shirley will be the happy and does not feel regretted on whatever decisions she takes. No one could push/force her to sing.
