If no company is going to sign her at the moment, she will not try to create news so record companies pay attention to her existance. If the opportunity comes up and someone wants to sign her and help her release an album, she may do it if everything fits. All I am saying is that music is only PART of Shirley's life, not the WHOLE". Does C.U. or many other actually think of the following: Shirley should rather have "let me see what I can do and fight for the CHANGE of my life and my music career" rather than the "see what life takes me" attitidue? If she said she still has many many unfulfilled plans to realize, then she should be the active force, but not the passive force to control her life and her career. Is that what C.U. mean? (2) I remember the other member suggests Shirley not to "ye cheung mung dor". She really should have the "experiment, nor to worry about the mistakes, but try better next time" attitude on her music. She also kept making many mistakes from 89 to 94 before "Ex" was produced wonderfully in 1995, right? Always looking for perfection immediately does not seem to be the good option. Nothing is perfect. Remember, music could be difficult but also be easy at the same time. Is Shirley complicating matters? (3) I still have Shirley's Easttouch interview in 1998, and she said the major reason why she terminated her relationship with Polygram is that Polygram regards music as a commercial product, but not art. Perhaps Shirley could not endure all those "commercial and money-making" eyes from EEG, Universal, etc, etc, so that she stopped for so long. She might not be able to face the fact that all her effort is treated like a disposable product. My question is that, how many record companies in HK really treat music as an art? I think Sony and BMG are the "only" choices for her. You can't deny that BMG HK is always a low-profile company in HK, and it did produce some decent and not-too-commercial music for Jordan Chan Siu Chun and even Ekin Cheng before.
