Just got the newspaper saying that Chan Siu Chun is going to release his Cantonese EP, also Jay Chow¡¦s concert is managed by BMG as well. Thus, I think BMG is not closing the HK (HK + Taiwan) market but just be selective. It is encouraging if Shirley is still in BMG
: (1) May be I was too frustrated to say she is
: destroying her own career; I might have
: exaggerated how I felt.
: (2) Remember all the news about FF being
: "toi sei fuk jung" in 2001
: because of the quarrel between Andy Lau
: and Lee Siu Lun over NMG. BMG also did not
: explain anything, but eventually FF was
: released. I don't think BMG is the kind of
: company that will come out to defend the
: singers.
: (3) The last CANTONESE album that BMG
: released was Ekin's cantonese album in
: 2000. BMG has, for a long time, not
: released any cantonese album for its
: singers.
: (4) Is there a possibility that BMG is
: suffering from some restructuring
: problems?
: (5) I would rather hope Shirley to release
: the album in 1st quarter of 2003. If she
: releases her album this year, then the
: same thing will happen next year (i.e. she
: will "disappear" in the first 9
: months of 2003, before she release another
: album at the end of 2003). Rather release
: an album in early 2003, plus another at
: the end of 2003, and maintain some
: occasional exposure (music-related)
: throughout the year.
: (6) Of course she has the value to be signed,
: and indeed, she is in a better position
: than Cass, Priscilla and Amanda, because
: she does not overexpose herself. Also, I
: could clearly see Kelly and Sammi being a
: worse position than Candy, Joey, Denise in
: a long-term prospect.
: (7) If BMG could spend 2 years on FF, I am
: sure it does not matter to spend 1 year or
: more on the new album. If Shirley signed
: BMG, there must be some reasons for her to
: do so. What I worry is if BMG eventually
: runs out of patience with her.
