Maybe the trick to a bypass route to the east is getting from the Coachella Valley to Morongo Valley. Once you get to Pioneer Town, I'm thinking things will be relatively more straightforward, yes?
I did draw in one more route entering Morongo Valley via Canyon House Road although I don't know if that's any better than any of the other routes.
