are you hiking/camping or also going to the peak? One of my favorite campsites is Dobbs cabin - 5 miles in on Momyer trail (which becomes falls creek). This is the creek that becomes Big Falls. Alger creek camp is only 3.8 miles in on the same trail, but feels cold and down in a gully, so to speak. The only others on Vivian are Vivian camp at the beginning or high creek at 5 miles in. Hopefully you'll get some posts re camps on the SF side. By the way - it is windy and 38 degrees today at my elevation of 5800. Weekend supposed to be warmer. Happy hiking
