In my opinion Fish Creek trail is the easiest approach. it is about 9 miles one way but the trail is nice with great views. There is a 7 mile dirt road you need to travel to get to the trail head so try and get a truck for the drive in. A car can make it but I was glad I used my truck. No 4WD needed.
Start early and bring a headlamp just in case, and you can do it in a day. September days are shorter but the early start is important. I hope this helps.
Have a great hike.
