I have done several day hikes up san gorgonio peak and back this Summer.
I´m thinking about attempting it in the winter using the Vivian creek route.Maybee november or December. I have never done any real hiking in the winter with snow So I have a few question from the more experienced Hikers here.
I´m curious if any of you have been up there in the winter and what eqipment you used, Crampons, snow shoes plastic mountaineering boots or just heavy waterproof hiking boots. Is a day trip still doable or if trekking through the snow eats up too much time and would require a night on the summit. Also What are the average winter time Lows up at the top.
Any tips and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
David
