Did you even laugh? I thought that was a good one. Imagine hiking to the top of San G, then there's this black glass rock with "FU" in white. Instead of getting mad you say, "Oh, it's just obsidian. No big deal."

: I know, but it is interesting though .
: The different views. The register
: box could itself be looked at as hal
: views ducks. wouldn't matter even if
: it was carved out of local material
: or obsidian, someone will object.
: It's funny! Ways that people think
: are interesting to me.

: Just kidding.

: FU? never ok. You know that.
:

: I see. So if there's a piece of
: obsidian that says FU that's okay.

: If it was a local duck I would say
: it was wrong but if he used stones
: from some other area and left them
: then it would be the same as the
: summit register.
: Only Hal could tell though. He's the
: expert!

: Good point Perry, do I dare bring up
: the idea if he had tagged a 'duck'
: or cairn
:
: --Previous Message--
: That's funny! He's probably
: delighted
: to read your rant. It does raise an
: interesting philosophical question:
: how is this different than leaving a
: register box and other items? If he
: had tagged the rocks, then the
: answer would be more
: straightforward. But instead he
: tagged something that somebody else
: left.
:
: --Previous Message--
: Well, at least they didn't tag the
: rocks.
:
: What a crappy thing. How about we
: make 'em walk a mile through
: buckthorn?

: Summited San Gorgonio yesterday, it
: was a beautiful day, go to sign the
: register and noticed some $%^&&% has
: "tagged" the register box.
: What in the world is going on, I
: understand anything near a trailhead
: getting marked up (taggers tend to
: be lazy), but this person climbed to
: the top and marked it up.
:
: Rant is over
