u can find spots using that forecast for around 10k but they are often highly inaccurate. All this point forecast are done by computers not humans
i always offer my site as an alternative for a more detailed forecast for that elevation and area.

: That's just freakin' great!
: I'm planning on attempting SG via
: Fish Creek over the weekend. I'm
: hoping to get to the trailhead about
: 1pm Sat, overnighting at Fish Creek
: Saddle and then summitting and
: returning on Sunday.
:
: As of now, I still plan on going;
: will just have to be flexible, and
: be prepared.
:
: BTW - The weather link on the
: frontpage here goes to a point
: forecast for Big Bear. Is that the
: best that can be done for the SGW?
: I've tried changing the point, but
: can't seem to get it above ~8500 ft
: and the lows always go higher than
: those reorted for Big Bear.

: If it does snow early Saturday
: morning... I think it could be a lot
: lower than 5000 ft. The wet bulb
: zero height could drop as low as
: 3000-3500 ft if enough dry air is
: entrained along the back door cold
: front. However if the evaporative
: cooling doesn't materialize, then
: 5000 ft is probably more reasonable.
: Either way, it's gonna be cold .
: Winter's here!

: For any of you who like to listen
: and
: trust my forecast. Snowfall looks
: likely for the wilderness tonight
: into Saturday morning as a inside
: slider system from the great basin
: drops down into the area over the
: high deserts with strong winds,
: winter temps and some moisture for
: some snowfall. The NWS does have
: snow in the forecast but im calling
: for measurable amounts a couple
: inches seem likely with the snow
: level falling to near 5000 feet by
: Sunrise Saturday. For more info
