A buddy and I summited via Vivian on Saturday, starting at 7:30am and finishing at 4:55pm. We blazed up (at least for me) in 5 hours and dilly-dallied a bit on the way back. It was a great day to summit the mountain with very cool weather and little sun. The trail was quite busy with lots of overnighters on Vivian, Halfway, and High Creek but everyone we bumped into was very friendly, like you weren't in LA anymore! The summit was pretty brutal with 40+ mph winds, thick cloud cover and sub-freezing temps. With no views to be had most people didnt spend too much time on the summit...me in my shorts didn't at least. I have lots of cool pics but unfortunately no place to support them for posting.
