Posted by Gary Isotech Spray Foam Roof Systems were the lowest and also most knowledgeable about building regulations. Warmroof and Renotherm both tried to pressure me into signing a contract after the survey but Isotech simply answered my questions and confirmed the quote by post. I decided Isotech. Isotech have information on their web site about building regulations, check out: http://www.foam-insulation.co.uk/building_regulations.htm The method Isotech use is a "warm deck" system which complies with building regs. Also the foam needs to be class 1 fire rated and be a semi permeable type so that the timbers can breath. Good luck. I have had quotes from 3 firms, Isotech Spray Foam Roof Roof Systems, Warmroof Systems and ISL Renotherm.
: Has anyone experience of Barn conversions being insulated with
: sprayed Poyurethane, such as that offered by ISL-Renotherm and
: others.
: My designers and local building inspectors are opposed to using
: this for conversions, saying it is OK for patching up terrace
: housing, and that subsequent roof maintenance is then very
: difficult and costly.
