you obviously missed a heated debate on the late late show last friday about planning permission!
If your in a town or village you stand a better chance of getting permission. The gov departments are quite rightly taking a stand against one off housing in the country side.
I dont think these days its acase of 'How long'...more will yuo get planning permission. but all in all if it goes well...no objections etc. a few month should see you sorted.
