Beware, in that selfbuild can be a bottomless pit for your money if not managed or priced correctly. There are plenty of people out there waiting to take your hard earned cash for little in return. The problem will be getting a plot. The planners will not release up enough land for selfbuilders. The plot will almost certainly cost more than the house build costs.
