What are the benefits of going to a 5 man infield? I have three Fast outfielders that can cover some ground I am just worried what I will be giving up when I bring a outfielder into play in the infielder. Thanks

1 it is providing a infielder directly behind your piche for protection . 2 faster double plays 3 closes the infield gaps. 4 forces hitters to find outfield gaps.

The MI does not play behind the pitcher. Playing the 5 man can limit infield hits to one side of one infield or the other. Assuming your pitcher actually pitches to his Defense.

if a team thats hittin is on fire 3/4 it does not matter. you can help shut the middle down then u run the risk of getting gapped to death. u really have to adjust to who u r playin ! i would rather give up singles in the holes than doubles and triples in the gaps!
