Why is it that the "world's best" teams expect/need favorable conditions?
Ie. Favorable draws (which makes for the easiest road to the finals), favorable umpiring/strike zones (it is underhand slow pitch and too many guys whine at every strike called on them, shut up and hit the slow pitched ball).
Why not use blind draws all year until Conf Championships and Worlds where you could use seeding based on rankings? It all comes down to making the game as easy as possible for the best in the game. That makes sense, like why should they have to play other top teams early where they might get knocked into the loser's bracket early (1-2 round)... What would happen if they had to play 7-8 in a row?
