I hve worked Lucero's bandogs and they are definitely the real deal.
I think one reason you come across his name so often is that Joe was one of the earlier
Bandog breeders in this country. He was competing his dogs in some of teh earliest K9 PRO SPORTS trials in the early nineties, and would ahve gone anywhere else they would have let him to prove his dogs, problem was (according to Joe) everyone but K9PS was afraid of his dogs!
Joe wrote a great articel about his K9PS experience if your interested I could send you a copy, don't want to hijack zJohny's board for K9PS stuff, but he and Sammy Holloway were definitely in the forefront of teh Bandog program in this country, andtheir dogs were as good as I have ever seen.
