The future of the working dog

Interesting topic, I recently as of maybe 2 years ago realized I was testing as I was training most times.
When working with any dog or pup I always want to do the things we have not done yet so I can see how the dog reacts and handles it. This can be anything from going to a public event where there is alot of people, I always know within moments if this dog can handle this stress, if the dog shows stress then we move forward to see if it goes away quickly.
If not we go home. I do this with everything also looking for the limit. We go see wildlife, dogs barking and charging fences, being left in a completely strange place and having a masked person come and threaten with objects, climb up and over things that are very stressful to any dog, through water .....
All to see if the dog will put trust in me and follow, I think we are always testing and then where we see a dog need a boost or get through something we then train to move the dog forward.
Just my opinion.
