With the "headroom" in the older cars, Newman would not have been doing an interview 10 minutes after being extracted, he'd be on a helicopter likely headed the same place Dale Sr. went.
I'd bet my last nickel that if Bruson Smith and SMI owned Daytona and Talladega, it'd be "fix it or lose the dates."
