A civil ceremony was held on 19 October followed the next day by a Roman Catholic wedding ceremony at Notre-Dame Cathedral, in Luxembourg City.
The bride wore a dress designed by Elie Saab and the Lannoy family tiara. Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg, who was the last unmarried heir apparent of a monarchy in Europe, wore Luxembourgish military regalia.
The ceremony, which began shortly after 11:00 a.m., was officiated by Archbishop Jean-Claude Hollerich of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Luxembourg and was attended by 270 ordinary citizens of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and a huge amount of members of European Monarchies, reigning and non-reigning.
