On Mothers day May 10th players from the MLB will be swinging PINK bats and wearing PINK wristbands in an effort to raise awareness of breast Cancer. Their mission is to make you stop and think about breast cancer. An estimated 182,460 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed among U.S. women in 2009. An estimated 40,480 women will die from the disease this year. With numbers like that, it is inevitable that all of us know someone who has been affected with this horrible disease.
The determination shown has inspired us to do the same at our level. This Mother's Day weekend MUSHTUBE.com will be sponsoring a softball tournament at Liberty Park in Sterling Heights, MI, where we are selling t-shirts, wristbands, etc. with all proceeds going to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, with those funds earmarked for scientific research as well as treatment and public-awareness initiatives.
Around the country there will be softball tournaments and games.
During Saturday the 9th and Sunday the 10th we are asking ball players, fans and supporters to buy a shirt and/or wristbands and wear them in support of breast caner. The breast cancer awareness theme is to be carried throughout each game, to raise additional funds for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Our hope is that softball players across the country will wear the T-shirt or wristband during whatever tournament or games they are participating in.
