Fara Phoenix is not part of the SF64 universe (if any at all), and James is dead so there's no reason for him to reappear. On Namco's Star Fox: ...I apologize if this sounded blunt. I'm in kind of a bad mood right now. Van
As long as we're talking about it, I have a few opinions I'd like to voice
As Shadow points out, she's never been in any of the games, only NINTENDO POWER's excellent Star Fox comic from nine years ago. That puts her somewhere between official material and a fan fic character. Either way, she doesn't really belong in the Star Fox 64 universe since it was a remake.
In the SNES Star Fox, he didn't even had a name (the NP comic called him Fox McCloud Sr.), and his story was about disappearing into the Black Hole. In SF64, he's captured by Andross and killed. He's popular in fan fiction, so writers try to bring him back or at least leave it open. But officially, he's dead.
This is firmly spin-off material. I don't think they've messed up the story line as much as people think. It seems to be based on SF64, which, to me, messed up the story of the original Star Fox. Frankly, I prefer the original, so it was kinda messed up for me already.
As far as I'm concerned, the Namco Star Fox might as well be another remake. It's been pointed out that just about every other Zelda game is a remake of the original, and I could see the same thing happen with Star Fox. So it may not really matter what happens in SFA or SF64 anyway.
