We have a gelding who came to us as a rescue. Devan is approx 12 years old and has a lip tatoo indicating a polo pony background. He had terrible feet when he came to us..probably hadn't had a trim in well over a year. We worked closely with the best barefoot trimmer to rehab his feet over an 18 month period, after which he was sound. We leased him to a prospective home, who promptly put shoes back on him, after which he started having foot problems again. He is now barefoot and has a good chance of coming back to 100% soundness, but for now, remains a companion horse. Devan has tons of personality...he's very loving and people-oriented. He's also the low-man in a pasture setting, so he's an awesome companion horse. We're fine to keep him in the pasture forever, but with some rehab, he would make someone a fantastic low-level horse...he's great on the trail and very versatile. Just putting the word out there..thanks!
