Five Gelding Llamas and One Female llama

free to loving home. Two of the geldings (Linus and Pig Pen) must go together and make excellent guard llamas. They have treed black bears on our property twice. They currently watch two goats and a sheep.
Levi is a very sweet, easy to handle llama. He is well trained and has done packing and showing.
Stella is sweet and will give kisses, but must be cornered to be caught.
Freddie and Ruger are trained pack llamas. They would be happiest going together, but could be placed seperately.

of them still available? Do you have any pictures? Do they do better if they go in pairs? How long does it take the horses to get used to them?

They must be in pairs, they do not do well being the only Llama. Our horses were fine with the one we rescued within a few hours. They chased it for about 5 minutes, and then just ignored it.

for the horses. When we brought Diamond to my SIL's property Napa, we put Di in one pasture & the 2 llamas in one pasture right next to it. The fencing in both pastures was Horse Guard. Within a very short time (I think less than 1-2 hrs), the llamas shimmeyed under the Horse Guard fencing to be with Diamond. No problems & they were such wonderful friends & herdmates after that -- they were thicker than thieves!

Two is probably better. Another thing -- watch out for llama spit. Benay lived on Silverado Trail in Napa & whenever they had runs/marathons or bike rides in the area, the llamas would spit at the runners & riders. It was funny!

Mynagah actually sheared Benay's 2 llamas, so I got to actually meet her & her hubby. Sorry to hear they are needing to place their llamas. They're great folks! If I was already in ID, I would offer a home to a llama or two because Diamond just loved her llama companions & they loved her too.

We're doing fine. Hubby & I moved to Sac & now Diamond is being boarded in Galt.

How are you guys doing? Sorry to hear about you having to place your llamas. I know you really enjoyed them & loved their companionship. Please let me know how you are doing. My email is vidster AT cattledog DOT com.

Unfortunately, my SIL had to part w/her llamas, cats & dogs due to a nasty divorce. She couldn't hang onto the Napa property & ended up buying a mobile home for herself in town.

Benay found a great home in the Winters area for Dougal & Jaime. The boys went together. Diamond was not happy to see them go -- she loved her llama boys. Once we move to ID we'd love to get a couple llamas as pasture mates for Diamond, but for now we only have one horse & it will be staying like that for a while since we live in town.

to llamas more when they have riders. IMHO because the riders freak out because they think their horse are going to - so the horses feed off of that tension. We have brought off-the-range mustangs home and they haven't missed a beat about llamas.
