Semogue 2040 silvertip brush
Art of Shaving Lavendar shaving soap

Lather made in a bowl, as always.

Thayer's Original Witch Hazel, blended with a bit of lather and massaged into the skin.

We were over on the Lake Michigan coast for the weekend, had a blast, but my shaves were quick and disposable. Saturday afternoon, while we were having lunch in Benton Harbor on the patio outside the restaurant, the wind picked up, and some big fluffy clouds blew through. We found out later that we were experiencing the last remnants of Irene, as it headed east. The only damage? She blew my homemade kettle chips into the street.

This morning I got out the Mergress and had a proper shave.

Mergress XL Adjustable Safety Razor set at 1.5

Omega Pro boar brush
Old Spice shave soap
Thayer's witch hazel/Osage Rub mix

Old Spice Lime AS

Very nice shave, but I should have changed the blade.

A 'search' says that the last time I used this setup was July 9. Good chance that I've been using the multi-blade since then.

Soap: Old Spice
Bowl: Muhle stoneware
Razor: Gillette slim adjustable on 4
Blade: Generic "Super+Chromium" (6)
Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel (yellow label)
Aftershave: Old Spice (P&G)

This was my first shave since last Wednesday for Dad's funeral. My first thought was that this much growth was only going to clog a multi so I'd go DE. Then it occurred to me that I could use Dad's old brush & soap!

A quick two-passer to get through the day. Most Mondays I try to postpone shaving until the evening, but with a 38-39 hr. growth, was felling kinda scruffy this morning.

The Schick disposables with a coupon are <$0.10 each at Wal-Mart. With a proper lather and my new improved technique, they can certainly give a passable shave.

If you use Internet Explorer, just right click on the image in Facebook once you've opened it, and choose Properties; copy the URL Address with the .jpg extension and then just add it to the site as a pic; or just do what the site does, which is to enclose the address in the [img] and [/img] identifiers in this form
