Jeremy, Cella is a soft soap. Aside from the fact that it isn't solid, it behaves like any other soap when it comes to loading it onto your brush and making lather. Sodium hydroxide is the lye/saponifier used in hard soaps, while potassium hydroxide is the lye/saponifier used for liquid soaps. Soft soaps are created with a combination of the two, proportioned for the desired consistency of the soap. The little red tub that Cella comes in is a bit on the small side for comfortable loading, so I scooped mine out and packed it into an Anchor Hocking one-cup glass dish with the soft plastic lid. This makes loading the brush way more comfortable. - Murray --Previous Message-- : Would you consider cella to be a soap or a : cream? : : --Previous Message-- : What is your opinion of Cella shave soap : cream?
