It's a sad day....

An era has passed. I used the last bit of my PermaFrost Blue to shave this morning. Was it the wonderful, overwhelming menthol that made my eyes water, or sadness as I stared at the empty tub? Come on, Gio. Pleeeeease mix up a batch- I just need a taste man, just a taste....

BTW, I must put in a good word for the Shoebox Man. Good products, great service. And the recommended Wool Fat is the greatest. Mix in some Mentholo and, on a bleary morning, I can fool myself into thinking I'm using Blue.

Anyone got a tub of unused or little used Blue? Email me. I'll buy it!

I know what you mean! Every morning I look at the 3-4 shaves left in my jar of Tryphon Rose cream, think about it, and then put it back; waiting for a really special day.

I hoping that if he can someday get down to below a 60-hour work week, perhaps he can whip up a batch of creams, at least.

I will make some more soaps and creams: I promise!
I just need to find a few days to do it. Permafrost white and blue will be the first!

What is the difference between the white and the blue (aside from the color?)

Tom,

White is the "normal" cold menthol. Blue is so cold, so dangerous to make that Gio is the only soap maker I know that will make it, and even then he clears the family out of the house for the weekend while he cooks. He has told me that if he is making Blue during the summer, he doesn't have to run the AC- in FL no less! He makes very small batches because he is afraid that making larger batches will trigger some kind of El Nino effect.

Blue is so cold, I wear a sweater when I shave with it. And I only shave with a tempered straight razor or SE razor- DE blades are too thin and shatter from the cold.

Be forewarned before you order......

oh yeah, The Blue has a fantastic anise scent. A long missed absolute favorite after just ONE stick! Can't wait for the restock!
