Personally I do not think that this sort of sharpener is designed to re-align a blade one owuld need a hone for that. This sharpener would leave the blade terribly out of alignment.

    : I would guess that such a
    : "sharpener" could realign the
: blade edge, much like a steel does for a
: cook's knife, but it's hard to imagine
: prolonging the life of the blade
: indefinitely (such as 200x). It would also
: wear way any PFTE edge coating pretty
    : quickly.

: I would be curious to hear from someone who
: has actually used one, however. If Classic
: is selling them, they have probably found
: them effective to some extent.

    : Hey all!
: I went to my local CVS, and I saw this
: product for sale. It claims to be able to
: sharpen virtually any razor up to 200x
: without buying a new blade. I noticed
: Classic Shaving also sells this product...
    : I have several questions:
: Have any of you bought this thing and would
    : recommend it?
: Would it sharpen DE blades? What about
    : injectors?
: (I am assuming no to the DE, and yes to the
    : injectors)
: Does it live up to its claim?
: P.S. I have to admit that this product does
: sound appealing, provided that it works. I
: am one of those people who made the switch
: to DE because it was cheaper (although the
: other benefits were realized later)
