    Re: Electric Foil Shavers

Pressing with anything more than light pressure can prematurely dull the cutting heads in foil razors, and also cause the foil to wear out more quickly. Maybe your electric just needs new cutting heads?

If shaving ATG is causing a problem, hyperwarp made a post a long time ago describing shaving at an angle XTG. I forget the exact technique, but recall that it gave a BBS shave. Maybe that would work?

Hyperwarp, do you remember what that shaving approach was? I remember it used long strokes with the razor at an angle.

: Well, thanks for all the replies gentlemen.
: I've a few cheap foils, and indeed they work
: well on a freshly cleansed then dried face.
    :
    : That said, I remember their working better;
: of course I knew they take time, but in my
: memories they shaved closer - maybe a
: higher-end model, allowing the foil to be
: pressed harder against the skin - but then
    : I'd likely be getting too-close a shave.
    :
: As it stands a cheap foil gives me results
    : akin to my customary 2-pass WTG-XTG shave -
: but with a good deal more effort.
    :
    : I get I'll just settle for no-ATG shaves.
    :
: Again thanks for the prompt and informative
    : replies.
