I like the P160 idea too

a kilo could be chopped up into a whole lotta "portions"

: By the way, I like ChemErik's idea of breaking
: up a kilo of P160 soft soap. The price is
: right and it should provide an easily made
: lather of very good quality. I would load
: it into those nice little 1-cup sealed
: Anchor Hocking tempered glass bowls that
    : they sell at Wal-Mart.
    :
: In fact, I think this is an excellent idea!

: Hi 'Warp - Neat idea!
    :
: On a smaller scale, I have a couple of new
: wetshaver kits just waiting for new guys in
    : need!
    :
: I think the Weishi is an ideal razor for
: getting started, for testing different
: blades without dire consequences, and for
: sensitive skin. It is a well-made razor and
: the recipient doesn't feel like he has been
    : given something cheap.
    :
: I think the more universally accepted blade
: (that is, almost no complaints) is the
    : Crystal/IP . I would give a supply of these
: with the razors and encourage the new
: wetshavers to stick with these for a good
: while and develop their technique.
    :
    : I can't speak to creams because I don't use
    : them. For soaps, I think glycerin-based
: soaps are easier to lather early on, and
: they provide a good shave. My favorite
: soaps, otherwise, are Cella and the Valobra
: Shave Stick (converted into a cake).
: Institut Karite is also excellent.
    :
: For brushes, I would look at the Omega boar
: models. I think any of them would be good,
: and I have generally stocked the 49 for such
: occasions. The smaller Omegas would also be
    : good, and the luxurious 31020, 31025, 31064,
: and 31156 from the Selected Boar Brush line
: would be a step up.
    :
: I'm not sure that I would get into giving
: badger brushes away. I think that pure
: badger outperforms anything else, but many
: find them prickly. (For me, the Omega 63171
: in pure badger is awfully close to brush
    : perfection.) Silvertip brushes make
: expensive gifts. Rather than buy badger
: brushes for this purpose, I would turn to
: the nicer Omegas I listed above, that sell
: for around $25.00 each. The new brush
: worked out by Zach and Giovanni with Omega
: may also be just the ticket.
    :
: Aftershaves are a rather individual matter.
: I use Thayer's Witch Hazel because most
: colognes and aftershaves attack my
: olfactory. I would say that your friends
: could just get whatever aftershave they
: already like at the local store, including
    : the Nivea balm.
    :
: Hope this helps you, 'Warp -

: So if you were building a ShoeBox ShaveShop
: what basic things would you put in the
    : box....Remember
: your Shop is a Shoebox (well, maybe 2
    : shoebox's )
    :
    : What 2 or 3 razors?
    :
    : What 4 to 6 brands of blades ?
    :
    : What 3 to 6 badger brushes ?
    :
    : What 3 to 6 Boar brushes ?
    :
    : What 3 to 6 Shave Creams ?
    :
    : What 3 to 6 Shave Soaps ?
    :
    : What 2 to 4 AfterShaves ?
    :
: What little extra items, such as Alum Block,
    : Styptic Pencils, etc.
    :
: Seriously guys your input & opinions are
    : truly appreciated...Sigh, I might even go 3
    : Shoebox's but No Mo'
