One way to get them a high quality soap for cheap would be to buy the full kg of P160 and sell out the individual blocks. I like it as well as Valobra Almond and it's far cheaper. If you can't wait for R&B to reopen, Superlather and a few others sell it. Blades - I'd include Dorco 301's, Crystals, and Astra Superiors. TSD aftershave splash and milk are really popular and not very expensive. --Previous Message-- : : Hi Warp, : : I just did this with 2 young guys and can : offer a little of what I learned. : : First off they enjoyed my freezing balm more : than anything !!! So if you can concoct one : for them ... besides turning them on to the : Arko and Anherb products ... they might get : a big kick out of it. They loved MENTHOL ... : being used to irritating Electric Shavers, : or disposables. : : I would skip the Badger brushes entirely and : stick to the smaller Omega Boars that Gio : carries for around $15.00 each. Both guys : found the Classic 48 too big to handle ... : they had never lathered up anything. : : The ARKO Shave Stick is an absolute must as : is a puck of VDH Deluxe. For (tube) shave : creams I especially recommend the new Arko : Extra Sensitive and any/all Godrej products. : Either Tabac or Cella can be higher end : products that I recommend highly. : : Also, I think one glycerin soap is needed to : concoct the Super Lathers. Lacking the : Tryhon classics , I would consider a Menthol : laced one from The Shave Den. : : For blades .... I'm not a good person to ask : since I find only the sharpest ones work for : me. : : Razors ....... you can't beat the Lord Racer : for the price and ease of use. I would : forget about the Merkur HD's .... lots of : blades do not work well in it (As you : remember it removed 1/2 of my face outfitted : with a Trig) . I believe the Progress will : suit them, whatever blades they choose ... : for their entire lives. : : If you can swing it, introduce them to : several Royall Products: LYME and SPYCE .... : classy and classic. : : I would forget all the English Shave Creams : with the exception of Paul's. : : Of course an absolute MUST are the NB SC's : !!! The sooner they learn about NB products, : the better for an overall quality of life : improvement. : : Finally ... VITA Talc, & Vifrex and at : least one of Gio's Italian Soaps. : : Best Wishes for success. : : Matteo :
