    Re: Electric Foil Shavers

Well, I tried the foil and it delivered, after a laborious effort on my part, a shave on par with my customary with-then-across-the-grain shave...

After that I took a fresh new blade and lathered up, re-shaved, going ATG at the end - and again, incredible resistance, pain and blood.

This is bothering me so much!

: I am just realizing that you posted other
: questions which I can answer. Actually I
: had a very cheap foil razor which used two
: triple A batteries! I think it costs around
: ten dollars. It surprisingly gave quite a
: good shave!! Again, when new. You know
: what they say about new brooms sweeping
: clean, etc.. Therefore, regarding the
: matter of flash between the foil shavers, as
: a primary difference, you are most likely
: correct. Shaving dry or with lube...I found
: using Williams Lectric Shave to be helpful
: by preventing irritation and redness, Used
: this when possible. Most times, however, I
: went dry and used a moisturizer upon arrival
: to my office. Hope this helps.

: I'm experimenting with these shavers - hate
: the rotaries - as I've always found them to
: be good performers. And here's why:
    :
: They give me the closest shave without
    : ingrowns.
    :
: I really don't enjoy shaving with them
: because it takes forever and is a nuisance,
: but I get BBS eventually and never an
    : ingrown.
    :
: My question is this: Is there any
    : significant difference between expensive
: foil electrics and inexpensive ones - other
    : than flash?
    :
: I haven't tried an expensive one in ages,
: but the 10 dollar drugstore variety do a
    : capable job.
    :
: What do you guys know about this?
    :
: Secondly is it best to shave on dry, freshly
: cleansed skin, or slightly lubed skin?
