    I am just realizing that you posted other questions which I can answer. Actually I had a very cheap foil razor which used two triple A batteries! I think it costs around ten dollars. It surprisingly gave quite a good shave!! Again, when new. You know what they say about new brooms sweeping clean, etc.. Therefore, regarding the matter of flash between the foil shavers, as a primary difference, you are most likely correct. Shaving dry or with lube...I found using Williams Lectric Shave to be helpful by preventing irritation and redness, Used this when possible. Most times, however, I went dry and used a moisturizer upon arrival to my office. Hope this helps.
