I have used electrics off and on for over 45 years. Never could get a decent shave on my face. Always some stubble and nearly always some irritation.
A couple years back when I was still using the Fusion I was shaving my head and managed to put a great big "notch" in the side of my head by not paying attention to what I was doing with that darn razor.
As a result I gave an electric a try. And to my surprise it did a great job on my bald head. BBS you would call it or darn near to BBS.
Still use it now when I am in a real big hurry or have nicked my head and need to let it heal a bit before going back to my DE or SE razor.
But for the face, they are a waste of money in my opinion. If I did not already have one I would not go out and buy one just to shave my head for a few days while my mistakes heal themselves.
