Not completely for me;
Once I acquired my acquisition disorder, I learned from the Tabac bowl, with the spacer lid that lets air out. I like it better bone dry than surface of the moon. No gasket on the English bowls or the ceramic fat pot, either.
When you keep your soap in something you can seal it with and make it air tight, stuff happens to it! Woolfat, for example; will separate, crack, and transform somewhat if put away wet into an air tight seal.
