Zach - this is a very helpful review. Since the 48 (or 49) is often the standard by which other boars are jusged, it's impressive that you feel the Semogue is the more impressive brush overall. I own the Semogue limited edition horn handle - and it's a very well-crafted brush. I think that I'll be looking into one of the Semogue boars for my next brush purchase.
